All Benches — Master List
Benches are your core checkpoints: sit to save, fully heal, repair Tools using Shell Shards, and equip/swap Crests. Many benches also gate shortcuts or sit near boss arenas—unlock them early to reduce backtracking.

How Benches Work
- Save/Respawn: Sitting saves progress and sets your respawn point.
- Heal: Fully restores health.
- Repair Tools: Auto‑consumes Shell Shards to refill Tool durability.
- Equip Crests: Open equipment and swap Crests at a bench.
- Map updates: With Quill from Shakra, filling the map happens on sit.

Best Early Benches to Unlock
- The Marrow — Starter loop bench; stabilize early routes and farms.
- Bone Bottom — Central vertical hub; reduces climb fatigue and risk.
- Deep Docks (Elevators) — Excellent for farming and routing mid‑early progress.
- Greymoor (Halfway Home) — Midgame pivot near multiple encounters.
- Hunter’s March — Nearby arenas; vital for practice chains.

Bench Troubleshooting
- Broken benches: Some benches require nearby mechanisms or repairs before use. See /guides/tutorial/how-to-fix-the-bench-in-sinners-road.
- Threat nearby: Clear enemies or move away; benches can be blocked while in combat.
- Can’t fill the map: Buy Compass/Quill from Shakra—see /guides/tutorial/map-locations-early-game.
Region Coverage (Quick)

Bench + Fast Travel Synergy
- Unlock fast travel by defeating the Bell Beast, then activate stations (Bellways/Via Bells) as you go.
- Plan loops that start/end at benches and pass a station—perfect for boss attempts and farming.
